his was it. The moment I had been equally eager to see, and afraid of. After all, I was going to be interviewing the Blood Lord today. It was very exciting, but I knew if I put a foot wrong, or step out of line, he could snap my spine like a twig. I just hoped he wouldn't turn me into anything … unnatural.

I approached Brill. I saw a Forsaken walking up the path. I waved to him to be polite. He tried to sell me some mushrooms, but only a fool would buy mushrooms at those prices. He got quite upset when I said I didn't want one, and even offered to lower the price. After some time, and repeated attempts from the Forsaken to get me to buy his mushrooms, I bought the cheapest one I could, if only to be on my way.

When I reached the town hall, I looked up to check the time on the clock tower. If it was working, and I wasn't entirely sure it was, I was a few minutes early. I walked over to the nearby stables, and fed on the skeletal horse-like creatures the mushroom I had been forced to buy.

As I walked back to the hall, I wondered how the Forsaken could ride such beasts, what with all the protruding bone and all.

The Blood Lord arrived, and controlling any fears I had, we went inside.

Despite his appearance, he seemed a nice enough Forsaken, but then again, I had never really understood their race. Those eyes, there was something about those eyes, brighter than most I had seen. We sat and the interview began…

Trogar Këgnash: Firstly, do you remember anything of your life before becoming Forsaken?
Camci Mephistopheles: No I don't.

T: I see. Some do and others don't.
C: (nods) Maybe... But I glad I don't remember it.

T: And what do you do now?
C: I do what ever my Lady Sylvanas Windrunner tells me to do. Some secret missions, killing enemies... (pauses for a moment) Protect our lands.

T: How are your enemies?

C: Not so much in competition actually. (smiles)

T: Sorry, I meant who. Who are your enemies?
C: Everyone who threats the Forsaken in any way.

T: I've heard rumor that you once spoke to "The Red Horn" guild. Is this true?
C: (smiles) Yes that is true... I was invited to be a "guest of honor".

T: Was that before you became Blood Lord?
C: Yes it was. Though I were High Warlord at that moment. So I guess that's why they wanted me as "guest of honor".

T: What did you do there? Guest of Honor sounds heroic.
C: Hold a little speech. They had worked very hard for the opening of their new house, so I congratulated their hard work.

T: What did you want to achieve by entering the Blood Lord of the Horde event? Obviously you won the title but did you want to prove anything more?
C: (pause) Good question there. (pause) I just wanted to show the power of a Forsaken. (grins)

T: You were introduced as the Shadow of Doom. Was this your choice of name?
C: Yes it is.

T: Any reason for your choice?
C: Not really actually...

T: That's ok. In your victory you said you were proud of the support given to you by Devila. Who is this?
C: (smiles) Devila is my future wife. We are getting married, hopefully within 2 weeks. (pause)
Why so shocked?

T: Just surprise, that's all. You must be really happy.
C: Indeed I am.
T: I wish you well.
C: Thank you. (smiles)

T: Will you be back to defend your title of Blood Lord next year?
C: Yes I think so.

T: That's about it. Is there anything else you would like to add?
C: Not really. Just wanna thank you and The Azeroth Journal for this. (pause) Oh yeah. (leans forward in his seat) The world should prepare for something big. Our enemies should prepare. (leans back) That's all I can tell.

I stand and the Blood Lord follows. I ask for his picture and tell him to pose if he wishes. The stance he took was not one I expected.

He seemed to merge with darkness and shadow. Perhaps he prefers to walk the world this way, or maybe it allows him to sneak up on unsuspecting creatures? Who knows? Though I would not say as much to him, the Blood Lord appears to be someone who prefers actions to words.

Biding farewell to the Forsaken, I cannot help but wonder what he meant to prepare for… and why I smell mushrooms.
