Monday
5th June, Undisclosed location.
This
is an interview I was slightly wary about. I had contacted Drake
Flare. A towering Night Elf with burning eyes, and a reputation
for a short temper and a quick tongue. I had heard much about him,
and yet nothing at all...

|
I
knew he ran an organisation called The Draconic Empire, but information
was hard to sift through, as the hatred towards him was usually too thick
to find the truth. Rumours of his recent death had travelled to me, and
were only masked by the rumours of his resurrection a few days later.
As
I reached the location I had been given for our meeting, I was warned
of enemies that may be watching. For this reason, I am not going to reveal
the place where I conducted the interview. Not only for Drake's safety
but for mine as well, being the person to reveal it.
He greets
me at the door, and he instantly gives me the feeling that he is a fair
man, but one step out of line and I could be joining the oversized crocolisk
in the Stormwind canal. He sits himself comfortably, and the interview
begins.
The Draconic Empire
Sian
Lindor: OK, firstly, could you tell me a bit about your organization?
Drake Flare: The Draconic Empire... I was the one sent to Azeroth
by dragons, to start converting people from both Horde and Alliance, to
unite and fight against the things many foolishly worship... The gods,
bringers of pain. To convert those who killed my family and friends.
S:
Was this a choice you were pleased about?
D: I was not agreeing with it at the time, but I am not a racist
anymore. I was sent here due to my knowledge of the Arathi Highlands,
the only one of the council who knew anything about Azeroth.
S:
You were a racist before? What changed your mind?
D: Working with the people here opened my mind, so I now continue
to try and unite all races, all lives to fight the gods. The Horde and
Alliance challenge this by continuing to fight.
S:
Do you find you have many supporters? I have heard quite a few have anger
against you.
D: Most of the fools of Azeroth are those against me and my lords'
ways, they continue with war.
S:
The members you have at the moment, how are they treated in public, how
are you treated?
D: With a lot of disrespect, my bounty has reached up to 3,000
gold. Seems people are desperate, I'm trying to save these people but
the gods manipulate their minds against me and each other.
S:
I can see why you need an army.
D: We are a game for the gods. They pit us against each other for
their own entertainment, they laugh and watch us.

Drake Flare's Death and Resurrection
S:
Let us move on to... your recent death... How did that occur? And tell
me about the story of your resurrection, please.
D: Miss Kimmberly... A beautiful elf... Only one to understand
me as I entered Azeroth. Many relationships of hers I waited. All the
stress of everything was getting to me... So I jumped from Thunder Falls.
Now me and Kimm are engaged.
S: Congratulations!
D: We're to be married the coming Thursday.
At this point
of the interview I managed to grab the opportunity for some press coverage.
Whether you love or hate Drake Flare, everyone loves a good wedding.
S:
And how did she find you after your death?
D: She was there when I jumped... I had been drinking... Something
I don't usually do.
S: Did she know you were going to?
D: She tried to stop me... But couldn't, I jumped pushing her from
my way.
S:
Then what happened? How did the resurrection come about?
D: I don't know, after my death all I remember is waking up in
Stormwind Cathedral with thousands of souls using many magics on me.
S:
Did you experience any pain at all, was there an afterlife?
D: I returned from the nine hells... Yes... Asmodeus was there.
No pain, I don't feel much physical pain anymore.
S:
And do you feel like a whole person now, or do you feel like something's
missing?
D: I feel... As if someone I lost 3,000 years ago had returned
to me, and my mind is clear.
S:
So you are at peace?
D: I am at peace mentally, but I must continue the war against
the gods. I was born soon after the beginning of the gods' attack, they
took my family and friends from me all those years ago.

Drake Flare,
explained by himself
S:
Do you have anything else you would like to say to our readers?
D: I wish people to know of why I fight. When I was born, the worlds
were in a three years war with dragons. The dragons are creators of everything.
I lived in a city of dragons, raided by humans. My family - brothers,
sisters and parents, were killed off by the time I was four. The war continued,
many I knew died, that's were my racism grew on humans really. I married
a dragoness by the name of Ferra Goldstone by the time I was 334.
S:
How did that go?
D: She was exactly like me, like my female half. We got married
in a sandy desert near Drakio; there was a snowy mountain, and a temple
of water where the Arathi Highlands are now. The Temple of Life and Elements.
S:
How did that end?
D: Ferra had eight eggs, all of which were killed as hatchlings
but one, who remains alive today.
S:
Who is that?
D: Elois...
S:
Are you in contact?
D: Yes. Ferra sacrificed herself. I remember it exactly how it
happened. She had turned on me and her daughter. But I embraced Ferra,
looking to the pool. A long embrace. I said to her "I'll save you",
as she jumped to the pool. I ran down next to the pool, her life force
draining. I held her hand, looking to her eyes as she died.
S:
That must have been hard for you.
D: But the day Drakio was destroyed, the great Lord, Mal Oki...
under Bahumant's wing was trapped by the gods. The gods took over and
used people for their own fun. My friend, my best friend who I drank with
in the war, we both fought Bane. Bane had an axe. A human god, no hair,
bald, with markings on his head. We fought him as our town burnt in fire.
On the day I turned 3,000, my friend, a green, was knocked down and slain
before my eyes. In rage I took out that god, collapsed and woke up in
a forest of dragons. The remaining dragons of all time were there, I was
the last survivor of the 7,000 draconic of Drakio. Lord Mal Oki and Bahumant
were captured. I was sent by their profits, here, to where it all happened,
Azeroth. 5,000 years have changed things. The gods now rule over, laughing
at us. I call them watchers now, the watchers dance in the sky, watching
me. Watching you, watching everyone, seeking for more fun.
D:
I was sent here, because the dragons were originally planning to wipe
out all that turned on us, and the gods. Our creations turned on us. I
was sent to convert those, to unite and live, to rebuild after the gods'
destruction. That is my story.
S:
That is quite a story, quite a life you've had so far.
D: That is why I am dedicated to see this through. I was alone,
but now 3,000 are with me. 1,000 of which are dragon kin, 2,000 converts
of Horde and Alliance, and my allies. Yet there are 1,000,000 enemies.
Looking around
him as he climbs from his seat, he bids me farewell. I receive a small
warning about loose tongues and flapping ears, but I am not the type to
endanger my own life, so he has nothing to worry about.
Make sure
to check the next issue for any pictures I can get of the happy couples'
wedding day.
